Don't seal our lips
By Global Journalist Staff Posted Jul 5 2009
Day after day, citizens in many countries of the world are not allowed to speak their mind, broadcast their voice, publish their thoughts or post their words without fear of retribution. For some, there are threats of arrest, physical harm or murder. For others, it is loss of their business or retribution against employees or family.
Global Journalist presents summaries of these stories in World Watch and Death Watch sections in each issue. The website www.globaljournalist.org offers weekly updates.
This slideshow shows the increasing number of demonstrations from Düsseldorf to Manila, from Bahrain to Sri Lanka, who are graphically demanding freedom of speech.
