Independent journalism at stake

International journalists Shahzada Ahmed (Pakistan), Xin Zhiming (China), Sherine Bakir (Egypt), Jaideep Hardikar (India), Marc Lourdes (Malaysia), Rodney Muhumuza (Uganda), and Rodrigo Muzell (Brazil) came to the United States under the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships Program. They studied at the University of Missouri and worked in newsrooms throughout the United States. In this interview with the Global Journalist, they offered their perspectives on journalism issues in their countries.
