An ex-police officer and ex-deputy in Argentina named Luis Abelardo Patti was found guilty Nov. 25 for the kidnapping, torture and killing of journalist Ricardo Giménez, according to The Knight Center.
Giménez, a reporter for the newspaper El Actual in Escobar, Argentina disappeared in January of 1976. His remains were not identified until Feb. 21, 2008.
Patti was arrested April 2011 for the crime. Judge Adrián González presided over the case and gave Patti a life sentence for crimes against humanity.
