Two journalists face charges for publishing Serbian government documents

Two journalists are accused of revealing Serbia's military combat information. Jelena Spasic and Milorad Bojovic of Nacionalni gradjanski newspaper are being accused by the government of publishing classified documents, the International Federation of Journalists wrote in an Oct. 19 article.

According to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), “there is no evidence of law breaking and charges against them are unconscionable.” IFJ wrote that the journalists said the secret information was obtained through “fair means” as the press freedom organization said the paper was lying in plain sight in the Parliament building. The European Federation of Journalists and the International Federation of Journalists have launched a petition to support the cause of both journalists.
