Web editor found dead in apartmentPosted Oct 14 2011
The web editor of The London Post was found dead on Oct. 7. Faisal Qureshi was discovered dead after his brother became suspicious when he couldn’t reach him on his cell phone. His brother and cousin found him in his apartment with his throat slit and his body bearing marks that usually result from torture.
Qureshi’s body showed signs of torture and his phone and laptop were missing, according to the International Press Institute.
Qureshi moved to the apartment after receiving death threats. Recently, he received more threats after his article about the leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, was published in The London Post. The MQM is liberal-secular political party in Pakistan, and the article focused on Hussain’s alleged escape to South Africa.
