This year’s “Stand up for Journalism” event was held for imprisoned members of the press in Turkey.

According to a report from Hürriyet Daily News, journalists around Europe staged a protest on Nov. 5 in a stand against the imprisonment of Turkish media.

Requesting an end to the restrictions on press freedom in Turkey, unions that are members of the European Federation of Journalists sent a letter to Turkish embassies in their countries, the report stated.
