Cameraman killed in suicide bombing

Samaa TV cameraman Malik Arif was killed April 16 after a suicide bombing at Civil Hospital in Quetta in western Pakistan. Arif was at the hospital reporting on relatives and supporters who gathered after Shiia leader Ashar Zaidi’s assassination, according to the International News Safety Institute. Arif had 30 years of journalism experience and is survived by four children. He is the second journalist to be killed in Pakistan this year. The suicide bomber used 15 kilos of explosives and killed at least eight others in the attack. It is unclear who was behind the attack, IPI reports.
