TV host insults journalist on air

A TV host threatened a journalism student during his show for nearly 20 minutes after the student wrote critical comments about him in a blog.

José Carlos Stachowiak, host of a cable TV police program in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, insulted Lucas Nobuo Waricoda, a student at Ponta Grossa State University, for a story posted online as a class assignment. Stachowiak went on to bash the journalist’s family and university classmates, the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas reports.

Stachowiak later admitted his inappropriate behavior in an interview with Portal Imprensa. He said he is unsure about whether or not he will press charges.
