Reporter from New York Times resigns over plagiarism charges

A New York Times reporter resigned after he was caught copying stories from other sources such as The Wall Street Journal and Reuters.

The journalist, Zachery Kouwe, was taking the work of others and using it in _The Times_’ DealBook blog. He has worked for The Times since October 2008.

After The Times disclosed the issue Feb. 15, they initially suspended Kouwe and he chose to resign the following day to avoid disciplinary action, The Times reports.

In an interview with The New York Observer, Kouwe said he didn’t deliberately plagiarize his work and never fabricated any of his stories.
