Ibrahim Eissa, editor-in-chief of the independent daily Al Dostour, was issued a presidential pardon Oct. 6, according to the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights. Eissa was first sentenced to six months in prison for publishing false information and rumors about President Hosni Mubarak’s health. The sentence was later reduced to two months before Eissa was pardoned.
